About the artist
Praised fleetingly, but gratifyingly, as "exceptional" by the Wall Street Journal, flautist and baroque flautist Jonathan Slade (almost always) enjoys a varied and dynamic career as a performer and educator. His aversion to writing essays has not prevented him collecting performance degrees from the Royal Academy of Music, Yale School of Music and The Juilliard School.
Jonathan has been fortunate enough to have performed with Les Arts Florissants and The English Concert in America, and since moving to Oxford has been engaged regularly to play with Instruments of Time & Truth and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra. Concerts with the latter have included Liszt's Second Piano Concerto with Evgeny Kissin, and a tour to Brussels to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of NATO.
Jonathan is a frequent collaborator with flautist Elisabeth Parry and pianist John Alley and is working with them towards the publication of his composition 'The Passage of Time' for flute, soprano and piano.
Recital Stream is Jonathan's creation, and his way of feeling useful to audiences and performers of classical music in an uncertain and difficult time for all.
