About the artist
Praised as being “excellent in every way” by the Chicago Classical Review, violinist Julia Dina enjoys an active performance career in orchestral and chamber works. She has been the Concertmaster at Huntsville Symphony Orchestra since 2018.
Having started violin at the age of two, Julia began her studies with her father, and then went on to study extensively at the Merit School of Music, where she won numerous awards and scholarships. Julia made her orchestral debut at the age of five, and made her solo debut with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra in 2019, sharing the stage with renown cellist Tamas Varga. Julia has toured internationally, playing on stages such as Symphony Center and the Gewandhaus. Her recent appearances have included TwickenhamFest, where she collaborated collaborating with Grammy Award Winning Artist Craig Terry, and Soprano Susanna Phillips.
She now holds a Certificate in Performance from Yale University, where she studied with Hyo Kang. Some of the teachers that have had the biggest impact on her career are Ilya Kaler, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Guillaume Combet, and Aurelien Pederzoli.
